29th October to 2nd November sees Prestige Recruitment’s well-being week where a number of events will take place designed to promote physical health and mental well-being across the workplace.
As a recruitment business, we know how important staff well-being is. We work hard to ensure that all our team members and candidates benefit from a positive working environment where they are looked after and are encouraged to look after themselves.
This year, we’ll be running a wide range of events across the week including:
National Fruit at Work Day was on 2nd October but we held off to include this as part of our well-being week and will be holding our own free fruit day.
Eating fruit at work instead of crisps, sweets and bakes can deliver real benefits in terms of mental clarity and focus, energy levels, well-being, mood and productivity. It can also help team members to maintain a healthy weight.
To promote healthy snacking at work, we’ll be offering a selection of fruit to all our team members and visitors to snack on throughout the day, completely free of charge.
12 of our team members have been taking part in Go Sober for October where they have given up all alcohol for 31 days to raise money for Macmillan cancer support.
These team members have continued to play as hard as they work but cut out the booze which requires such dedication and commitment.
The countdown to day 31 is on and as part of our well-being week, we will be announcing the results of their efforts, finding out how much money they’ve managed to raise along with a team total of weight loss by making this sacrifice for such a worthy cause!
From cutting out belly fat and making your skin look better, to improving mood and motivation, reducing or eliminating alcohol from your diet can deliver real physical and mental health benefits. It can also help to reduce the strain on your heart, liver and kidneys, whilst decreasing the chances of certain types of cancer.
If you would like to make a donation to team Prestige, please contact a member of the team who will tell you how to do so.
As the nights have drawn in and the clocks are about to go back, we traditionally enter flu season. Our team members come in contact with lots of people every day, increasing the risk of picking up bugs and viruses which can be passed onto other colleagues and our candidates/clients alike.
This year we’re aiming to protect all our team members and reduce the spread of infection by offering flu vaccines to our staff members.
Although unpleasant, most people recover from flu in a matter of weeks. However, for those with certain medical conditions (including asthma, COPD, heart disease and diabetes) the elderly, and those who are pregnant, it can be significantly more serious. In some cases, it can be fatal.
The NHS offers free flu jabs to those who are most at risk. For additional information, visit the NHS website or contact your local GP.
At Prestige, we are 100% committed to creating and promoting safe, positive and healthy working environments for the benefit of our team members, candidates and clients alike, offering an ethical, professional service that protects everyone.

Wellbeing isn’t just about physical health. It’s also about fun, community and striking the right work-life balance. To celebrate the end of Go Sober for October, our well-being week and the final of the Great British Bake, we will be holding our very own bake-off challenge.
Prestige team members will be baking cakes and holding a ‘drop in for a coffee and a chat’ day on Wednesday 7th November between the hours of 10.30am and 3.30pm at our head office in Hull. Having just had our staff kitchen refurbished, we have plenty of room for candidates and clients to call in to say hello because we believe it’s good to talk. The baked goodies will be available to buy at £1 per slice and money raised will be added to our Go Sober fund-raising. The bake-off is a fun competition, but it will also be a fierce contest as standards will be high with some real cake connoisseurs in the office! There’ll be no soggy bottoms at Prestige! Do please come along to see us.
