Prestige Passes Remote Audit with Flying Colours

Prestige Recruitment is dedicated to providing the highest quality of recruitment solutions for candidates and employers alike. In order to achieve this, we’re audited by external bodies throughout the year and need to comply to multiple standards.

One of our regulating bodies is REC (Recruitment and Employment Confederation), which strives to empower recruiters such as Prestige to be compliant in everything they do. Their audit involves thorough analysis of all of our practices, ensuring that every element of service delivery is in line with client expectations, current legislation and data security.

REC members also work to a Code of Professional Practice, which consists of ten principles that must be adhered to at all times. These principles revolve around the genuine and unwavering respect for laws, honesty, work relationships, diversity, safety, professional knowledge, certainty of engagement, prompt and accurate payment, ethical international recruitment, confidentiality and privacy. If we were to slip in even one of these areas, the REC would immediately organise an investigation of Prestige Recruitment to rectify the issue.

The other regulating body is GLAA, which stands for the Gangmasters and Labour Abuse Authority. This is the leading investigative agency for labour exploitation in the UK, with recruitment agencies that provide workers to the fresh produce supply chain being required by law to hold a current and valid labour license. The GLAA protects vulnerable workers, with its licensing standards also covering their health and safety, accommodation, pay, transport and training. When you choose a recruitment company, you absolutely must make sure that it has this license, otherwise it could be treating workers unfairly.

Despite the restrictions that coronavirus has caused across multiple industries, we’re delighted to say that Prestige was audited remotely and achieved a satisfactory result. Remote auditing has been adopted by many organisations during and after the lockdown, as it is the safest way of carrying out the process whilst guaranteeing that all of the usual factors are take into account in their entirety.

Passing an audit is a crucial part of our mission to bring a premium recruitment service to employers across Hull and East Yorkshire. As soon as the restrictions began in March, our teams initiated a variety of new procedures to guarantee the safety of staff and visitors without compromising on the quality and consistency of our service delivery. Thanks to our recruitment specialists instantly adopting new ways of working, which included social distancing, comprehensive workplace hygiene routines, remote working and additional methods of communicating digitally, we’ve continued to keep our candidates and clients safe and happy during a difficult and unpredictable period.
