Prestige attends Employment Law Seminar

At Prestige, we’re continually investing in the training and development of our recruitment teams.

As part of this, our Hull team attended an Employment Law Update on 27th September, presented by Bridge McFarland – one of the Humber region’s leading law firms.

A useful update session covering a wide range of topics – it was a great opportunity for the team to top up their knowledge on some of the recent and upcoming changes that have a real impact on our business, our clients and our candidates.

Employment Law Topics Covered

During the morning session, we covered a wide range of different topics, including GDPR and Brexit, before looking at some other recent cases and legal topics in depth:

  • #MeToo and sexual harassment in the workplace
  • ACAS guidance on employment referencing
  • Holiday accrual and overtime
  • The Parental Bereavement (Leave & Pay) Act
  • The increase in Employment Tribunals Claims

The team took away a lot of useful, ‘need to know’ information and practical action points from the session, gaining clarity on a number of relevant, timely issues that will help to inform the way we do business, now and in the future.

Staying on top of Employment Law

At Prestige, we’re proud of the high standards we maintain and work tirelessly to ensure that our team members are always up to date with the latest developments.

Employment law impacts on our business in so many ways. Keeping abreast of the latest case law, legislation changes and issues benefits everyone. It helps to ensure that our candidates are protected and treated in a fair, legal manner at all times.

It also keeps our clients safe, ensuring that all our dealings are fully compliant and that we can help to ensure they are upholding the law within their own businesses.
