International Women’s Day 2021

March 8th is International Women’s Day – a global event to celebrate women’s achievements, raise awareness against bias and take action for gender equality around the world.

In celebreation of International Women's Day 2021, we spoke to several of our key female team members about the role they play within Prestige.


Dawn Benson, Operations Director: "I entered into the Recruitment Industry accidently back in 1997 and have never looked back. I joined Prestige Recruitment in 2001 and will be celebrating 20 years with the business in May.

There are no limits to what can be achieved with hard work, determination and support from team members that become part of your extended family.  Not one day is the same, from understanding and implementing new legislation to building a team that allows us to grow our portfolio further. I love my job for the relationships that have been built over the years and of course the new ones to come.

Many clients become friends which is testament to the personal service that we offer.  Recruitment is far from easy but so very rewarding.

At home I am mum to two fantastic children, Emily and James, they make my heart melt every day. I am so very proud of them. They are my world along with my husband who still makes me laugh after nearly 30 years!  Away from home I spend time with friends, (quite often drinking plenty of Gin) I treasure them, each and every one."


Charlie T., Commercial Resourcer: "I started at Prestige Recruitment at 17 years old as an apprentice in the Transport department. In my two years here I have had the privilege of working with so many departments in the business including Transport, Construction and Commercial.

After my apprenticeship I was taken on as a full time employee and my role has progressed from administrator to now a trainee Commercial Resourcer. I feel supported by my colleagues and I am excited to learn more from them in my future with Prestige. I consider myself to be hard working and always happy to help anyone and I look forward to continuing training and developing myself with Prestige.

I am a happy individual who is all for her friends and family, they are the most important people to me. I do enjoy to spend time with my family weather that be going on holiday, day trips or just watching Netflix, but if I’m being completely honest my typical weekend (pre COVID) would have been Friday and Saturday out with my friends putting a dress on and going for cocktails!"


Katarzyna K., Recruitment Consultant: "I am a mother and wife full-time working in recruitment, i.e. a traditional, simple wonder woman!

I love my work for the unpredictability and creativity, which is an inseparable element in this industry. What do I love life for? My family, friends... for the ability to enjoy simple things, for surrounding oneself with good people, for mutual support we give each other, for joint laughter, for our conversations.

We are all super heroines in high heels and we leave our heroic cloaks under the bed every day, with simple feminine modesty. We are beautiful in every way, special and unrepeatable and this is our female strength."


Chelsea D., Transport Services Manager: "I am 32 I started working for Prestige as a Transport Administrator back in July 2006 when I was 17 and I am now Transport Services Manager.

I love working for Prestige there are so many avenues for career development and I have always been supported with my progression by some inspirational colleagues.

I am a mum of 3 beautiful babies, Olivia, Niamh & Noah; Covid bride fingers crossed soon to be Mrs Tompkins March 2022.  I enjoy family time, long summer nights in the garden; self-confessed gin- oholic!"


Liz O., Commercial Business Manager: "As a Commercial Business Manager, my role is to oversee our service to a large client base whilst operating a commercial desk of temporary and permanent vacancies. These vacancies predominantly cover Business Support and Public Sector opportunities. My key focus is to build and grow client and candidate relationships, allowing us to deliver a high quality service to fully understanding requirements; matching candidates skills and career goals with those of our clients requirements to find the best all round match.

I am a real family girl, and blessed to be happily married, with a lovely Son and Grandson. These past 12 months have been hard on everyone, and I really cannot wait to meet up with family and friends!

I originally started my professional life in the hospitality trade managing Public Houses for 14 years, before looking for a new passion. I jumped feet first into recruitment when offered the opportunity and haven’t looked back since!

When interviewed by Nigel Stabler (MD) back in 2016 I really bought into Prestige as the family they become. What I love is Prestige are a dedicated and professional outfit that believe in growing relationships and partnerships to supply the best possible service.
I have personally been able to grow and develop within my role and take on board new skill sets along the way from some fantastic people within the business."


Aleks C., Resource Department Manager: "I have joined Prestige in 2015 and since then each day bring new challenge and every day is different . I love my work because I can interact with people and help them to find work which sometimes can change their life.

In my free time I like spend time with my husband and my dog Llama  on long walks and watch criminal movies and TV series."
