Hull & East Yorkshire Recruitment Firm Celebrates Dawn Benson
The face of recruitment has evolved dramatically over the last two decades and this month sees a long-standing member of the team at one of the largest independent recruitment firms in Yorkshire celebrate 20 years in the business.
Dawn Benson began her career with Prestige Recruitment as an Industrial Services Manager following four years working in grassroots recruitment locally, where she became knowledgeable in all aspects of the industry after leaving Hull’s Wyke College.
After a busy, energetic, and successful initial tenure, Dawn fast moved to become a Departmental Manager specialising in recruitment into the food and manufacturing sectors - specialisms she still focusses on today. Dawn was promoted to her current role as Director in 2017, during Prestige Recruitment’s 25 years in business.
Based out of the firm’s head office in Bowlalley Lane in Hull city centre, Dawn has seen many changes in the industry over the years. In particular legislative changes, the move to working through technology and social media, and more recently the changes in immigration rules, all of which Dawn has enjoyed embracing to keep one-step ahead of the game to ensure the firm’s continued success.
Dawn commented: “I am extremely proud of my career at Prestige and even prouder to be part of its success. When I first joined there were 10 people in our core recruitment team, today there are 50 of us running a fast-paced business in a highly competitive market. Developing the business and our portfolio of client relationships has been my biggest pleasure.”
The agency places thousands of workers each week into roles within household name firms across the region.
Dawn added: “I work with a wonderful team and it has been an absolute pleasure watching them grow and develop as we invest in their roles. I am a people person - extremely passionate about the services and expertise that we provide, and I am so proud to have been part of the last 20 years. I now look forward to what the future holds and how we will continue driving our success.”

The award-winning independent recruitment agency opened its doors for business in 1992. Their head office remains in the city centre of Hull, with additional offices across Yorkshire, Lincolnshire and East Anglia. The business is looking to add two further offices on the M62 corridor over the next 12-months to accommodate their clients’ recruitment demands with 2022 seeing further celebrations of 30 years in business!
