£26k to £30k DOE
40 Hour week (hours to be discussed)
2 full days off a week
Driving License essential due to rural location
Chef Job Duties:
- Prepare and cook customer orders according to their preferences
- Employ food safety guidelines ensuring all staff adhere to these at all times
- Act with appropriate caution in a dangerous environment where there are knives and high-temperature surfaces
- Select choice ingredients using locally sourced where available
- Experiment and come up with new specialities that will draw diners into the Pub
- Coach and develop kitchen staff, so they perform to their best ability
- Determine how much food to order and maintain an appropriate supply for service and efficiency
- Keep up with trends in cooking and the pub industry to ensure that guests have a positive experience
- Work quickly and accurately particularly during busy periods
- Take direction and work alongside the pub management to create a healthy working environment and efficient working conditions
Chef Skills and Qualifications:
- Leadership skills
- Training in Culinary Arts to a minimum of Level 2
- Ability to work well under pressure and time constraints
- Creativity to create dishes on brand with the restaurant
- Knowledge of different varieties of foods and ingredients
- Ability to accept criticism
- Ability to maintain an extremely sanitary environment while working
- Communication skills
