Project Officer

Prestige Recruitment Specialists are currently recruiting for a Project Officer to work within a large public sector organisation in the Leeds area. The post holder will be responsible for supporting and delivering new build housing projects as well as responsibility for undertaking complex procurement exercises to select building contractors, leading projects, project work streams and multi-disciplinary project teams. You will also be overseeing and maintaining project management controls and tools and engaging with key stakeholders.

Accountabilities:

  • Support the delivery of projects and work streams to ensure programme outcomes are met
  • Manage and maintain project management tools, techniques and controls
  • Manage and lead the identification and resolution of project risks and issues
  • Support and coordinate multi-disciplinary teams to deliver project outcomes
  • Support the management of contractors to develop design and cost proposals which meet requirements
  • Provide a project management service to technical colleagues who manage onsite activity and assist with contract management
  • Consult and communicate effectively with colleagues, clients, partners, tenants, residents and other stakeholders
  • Support procurement activity such as collating documentation, responding to clarifications and evaluating tenders
  • Obtain formal approvals in line with governance requirements

Skills, knowledge & experience:

  • Supporting or leading projects within the specified discipline or related field
  • Working with public sector projects
  • Supporting procurement activity to deliver value for money
  • Employing a range of project management tools and techniques
  • Cultivating and implementing creative and innovative solutions to complex problems in a project environment
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and negotiate to form positive relationships with a variety of stakeholders
  • Presenting complex information in a clear and concise manner using a variety of presentational formats
  • Effectively managing competing priorities and workloads, responding quickly and appropriately to changing needs and utilising excellent organisation skills

Qualifications &Training:

  • APM Level C or equivalent / higher Project Management qualification, or
  • Demonstrable relevant skills and experience at a level equivalent to APM Level C

Term: Temporary
Hours of work: Full time
Salary: £16.60/hr
