Multi Skilled Engineer
Prestige Recruitment Specialists are recruiting on behalf of our Client in Hull who are specialist manufacturers of premium poultry products for a number of high volume Customers/Supermarkets across the UK.
They operate from a purpose built, superbly equipped factory that has been designed without compromise to produce high quality products using the best possible safety standards.
The principle purpose of the role is to maintain the designated plant and equipment sufficiently to enable the business to operate within food hygiene and health and safety regulations.
- This position is Monday - Friday with alternating weekly shifts -
4 am - 1 pm / 1 pm - 10 pm
- You will need to be a suitably qualified or time served engineer who has both electrical and mechanical experience.
The job role will see you undertake planned and preventive maintenance on all factory equipment, respond to break downs understand and report the expected down time of the machinery, you will ideally have an understanding of the food production environment and food safety standards.
·Maintain plant and equipment to optimum standards safely with minimum downtime
·Provide a rapid response to urgent and non-urgent maintenance tasks
·Ensure that factory machinery etc is in working order at all possible opportunities in order to meet the associated production deadlines
·Ensure high standards of housekeeping are maintained
·Ensure the efficient usage of spare parts, consumables and equipment
·Ensure that all health and safety and food hygiene procedures are adhered to at all times
·Maintain open and constructive lines of communication with the Production Department
·Liaise with all levels of management across all functions relating to engineering activities on the plan or breakdowns
·Any administrative duties as required in the fulfilment of the engineering plan
Key Result Areas:
·To decrease time lost due to breakdowns
·Satisfactory completion of the engineering plan / designated areas / equipment
Routine Testing Requirements:
·Understand the basics of how a metal detector works
·All M&S CO-OP requirements including routine testing
·Detection sensitivity requirements
·Reason for and how to audit fail-safe systems
·Control of rejected products
·Depth and nature of metal reject investigations required
·What corrective actions are required
·Any senior management intervention required
Service, Maintenance and Breakdowns:
·How to trace faults – route cause analysis
·Importance of maintenance and performance validation
·Following the manufacturers maintenance recommendations, lubrication requirements, critical locations on the equipment
·Good engineering practices to reduce the risk of product contamination
