Health and Safety Manager

Primary duties are to include:

Reviewing pre-tender H&S plans as part of tender submissions

Reviewing all company policies for compliance

Preparation of construction phase plans, method statement and risk assessments for our own work

Preparation of permits (working at height, lone working, hot work etc.

Preparation and monitoring COSHH assessment for all materials used

Vetting and onward transmission to client RAMS for subcontractors works and including liaison with clients and their own agents where required.

Attending site pre-start meetings and extracting relevant information for the project.

Regular site audits to ensure safe working practices / compliance with company health and safety protocol and respond back to contracts manager and Director.

Provide leadership to construction team members where appropriate as part of site audits, highlighting the need for and providing toolbox talks were required, monitoring trends and highlighting opportunities for overall improvement of working practices.

Maintain company records and keeping up to date with legislation changes for health and safety to ensure the company remains compliant.

Accident investigation and monitoring the accident book and ratios.

Maintaining accreditation application (safe contractor, Altius, EcoVadis)

Taking an active role and responsibility for the internal health and safety (office, workshop, warehouse)

Preparing and timely submission of O&M manuals & files for projects.

Preparation of site files and signage.

Ordering and monitoring of PPE and company uniform.

Monitoring and updating the training matrix, booking training courses for all relevant accredited and in-house training.

Ordering various items of plant and machinery for site, Monitoring own equipment for LOLER inspections and PAT testing.

Environmental duties that will include arranging the disposal of waste from site and the workshop.

Driving licence 3 month checks for van drivers to make sure they are all point compliant.

Qualifications needed.

At least 2 years’ experience in a health and safety construction role

NEBOSH General

NEBOSH Construction

NEBOSH fire (preferable)

NVQ health and safety level 4-6

Managers CSCS,

Good IT computer skills

Good communication and Management skills
