Main purpose of the role/Key objectives |
To be responsible for sourcing and purchasing materials, products, and services ensuring a timely and cost-effective procurement, while maintaining high-quality standards and building strong supplier relationships.

Accountabilities |
- Timely and accurate procurement of materials, products, and services to agreed budgets, quality standards and service levels - Development and maintenance of effective supplier relationships for allocated categories of spend - Maintaining clear communication with stakeholders and suppliers on requirements and fulfilment of them

Roles and responsibilities |
- Source and procure materials, products, and services to meet project requirements and specifications - Negotiating favourable terms with suppliers - Maintain accurate records of procurement activities and supplier information - Optimising cost and value - Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand project requirements and provide procurement support - Conduct supplier evaluations and negotiate favourable pricing and terms - Issue purchase orders and manage the procurement process from requisition to delivery - Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate procurement of goods and services - Monitor supplier performance, including on-time delivery, quality, and compliance with contractual obligations - Resolve any procurement-related issues or disputes with suppliers - Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, including purchase orders, invoices, and contracts - Conduct market research and supplier evaluations to identify potential new suppliers and improve supply chain efficiency - Collaborate with the finance team to ensure accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments - Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory requirements related to procurement - Continuously seek opportunities to optimise costs and improve procurement processes

Qualifications/Knowledge/Experience |
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience in procurement, preferably in the construction or design and build industry - Professional certifications in procurement or supply chain management are desirable - Experience in negotiating contracts and agreements with suppliers - Knowledge of procurement best practices and supply chain management principles - Familiarity with relevant industry regulations and compliance requirements

- Strong negotiation and communication skills - Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities - Attention to detail and accuracy in procurement processes - Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment - Strong organisational and time management skills - Proficiency in procurement software and systems, preferable to have knowledge of Sage or similar accounting software - Knowledge of construction materials and industry-specific procurement practices - Strong relationship-building and interpersonal skills - Ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and external suppliers - A strong team player with an adaptable attitude to getting the job done
